Bassenthwaite Lakeside, an exclusive privately owned park situated on the edge of Bassenthwaite Lake at the foot of the dramatic Skiddaw mountain in the National Park.

Two bedroom lodge has one master double with four poster bed and en-suite bathroom with spa bath and double shower and one twin. Shower room. Three bedroom have one master double with en-suite shower and wc, and two twin. Bathroom. No pets.

Local activities

At Derwentwater Marine at Portinscale is a RYA recognised sailing centre which also offers tuition in climbing, ghyll scrambling, abseiling and guided hill walking. The Howtown Activity Centre by the steamer pier on the eastern shore of Ullswater also offers tuition in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and ghyll scrambling.The area offers unrivalled opportunities for countryside and fell walking with more than 3,500 kilometres of rights of way. Most fells are open to everyone and you can cycle or ride on bridleways and by-ways. There are many free guided walks available with National Park Authority guides, as well as more specialised walks for which there is a small charge.
