Our centrally heated and double glazed lodges offer every comfort and modern convenience, from their extensively equipped kitchens to colour televisions and music centres; some also have spa whirlpool baths. Bedrooms include warm duvets, crisp linen and soft towels, and each lodge has a private balcony, complete with gas barbecue to help you make the most of those idyllic summer evenings. Amenities You
can enjoy boating, sailing, windsurfing and fishing on the lake. In
addition, our reception centre has a small indoor family pool and sauna,
and there are books, games and a video lending library. Outside, is

Local activities The Lake District offers unrivalled opportunities for countryside and fell walking with more than 3,500 kilometres of rights of way. Most fells are open to everyone and you can cycle or ride on bridleways and by-ways. There are many free guided walks available with National Park Authority guides, as well as more specialised walks for which there is a small charge. The Howtown Activity Centre by the steamer pier on the eastern shore of Ullswater also offers tuition in sailing, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and ghyll scrambling. At Derwentwater Marine at Portinscale is a RYA recognised sailing centre which also offers tuition in climbing, ghyll scrambling, abseiling and guided hill walking. |
