Timber lodges for sale Lake District - A superb range of holiday accommodation set in secluded woodland on the edge of the spectacular Bassenthwaite, recently designated a National Nature Reserve.

Timber lodges for sale Lake District - Bassenthwaite, an exclusive privately owned holiday park is situated at the foot of the dramatic Skiddaw mountain in the National Park. Our superb accommodation offer an idyllic setting in most gloriously unspoilt areas.

Here you can share the woods with the red squirrels, the waterside with the wildfowl and the water with the reflected sky. Tranquillity surrounds you in this verdant woodland setting, whilst across the water, the mountains and fells seem to march down to meet the water, creating a vista of unique timeless beauty.

Our area boasts picturesque towns and villages, beautiful rolling countryside, stunning mountain scenery, historic houses, churches, mills, mines and museums and many animal attractions suitable for families with children.

Adjacent to our Park is the spectacular Bassenthwaite, fourth largest at 4 miles long and the shallowest at 70 feet deep. It is home to a rare species of fish and to a great variety of wildfowl, birds and red squirrels which live along its shores. Our Park enjoys the rare privilege of being able to launch dinghies, canoes and rowing boats from it's own jetty.

KESWICK

Just 5 miles to the south is the charming market town of Keswick with a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants where you can sample a real Cumberland sausage and the local Tattie Pot or you can picnic on the banks of Derwentwater and then enjoy a lake cruise.

HISTORIC HOUSES, GALLERIES & MUSEUMS

It is fortunate to have a host of historic houses, galleries and museums, about which we provide full details at reception on arrival.

Just five minutes from our Park is Cumbria's friendliest historic house - Mirehouse - which was host to Wordsworth, Sir Walter Scott and Alfred Lord Tennyson who wrote "The Charge of the Light Brigade" here. The house has woodland adventure playgrounds for children and a delightful walk to the tiny romantic St. Bega's church on the edge of the lake.

A TASTE OF CUMBRIA

Imagine air-cured ham, deepwater fish and local game, Cumberland sausage, duck with Lyth Valley damsons or tender Herdwick lamb. Add Borrowdale Teabread, Grasmere Gingerbread and sweet Lamplugh Pudding, spiced with ale. Mmmm… Cumbria's restaurants have a treat in store for you…….full details available at Reception on arrival.
